Discounts Cartie creates
Several widgets write real Shopify automatic discounts when you publish. Here's exactly which, and how to keep them tidy.
A cart widget that promises a saving is worthless if checkout charges full price. So when a widget makes a price promise, Cartie creates the matching Shopify automatic discount at publish, updates it when you change the widget, and deletes it when the offer ends or the cart stops being live.
#What gets created

You will see these in Shopify → Discounts, named with a Cartie … prefix and the cart they belong to. Cartie owns them: edit the widget in Cartie rather than the discount in Shopify, or your next publish will overwrite your change.
#What uses your existing codes instead
- Discount Code widget — shoppers type (or you pre-fill) a code you created in Shopify.
- Scratch Off — reveals a code you created in Shopify.
- Rewards Ladder checkpoint set to Discount code — applies a code you created in Shopify.
#What Cartie does not create
The Free Shipping Bar shows progress toward a threshold but does not create the offer. Set a matching free-shipping rate in Shopify → Settings → Shipping and delivery yourself.
#Discount stacking
Shopify decides which discounts can combine, not Cartie. If you run a flash sale and a rewards ladder at the same time, check the combination settings on those discounts in Shopify admin and place a test order to confirm the shopper gets what your cart promised.
Every Cartie-managed discount is prefixed "Cartie".
