My Carts — drafts and the live cart
How Cartie separates the cart your shoppers see from the ones you are still working on.
My Carts lists every cart you have built. Exactly one of them is live — that is the cart your shoppers get. Everything else is a draft.
#Live vs. draft
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Live | This is what the storefront is serving right now. Shown at the top of the page with its performance. |
| Draft | Yours only. Edit it, preview it, share nothing — until you publish it. |
#What you can do with a cart
- Edit — opens the cart builder.
- Publish — makes a draft the live cart. The previously live cart becomes a draft; nothing is lost.
- Duplicate — copies a cart so you can try a variation without risking the original. This is the safe way to explore a redesign.
- Rename — carts are easier to manage with names like "BFCM dark" than "My Cart 3".
- Delete — removes a draft. Deleting the live cart reverts your storefront to the default Shopify cart, so Cartie asks you to confirm.
- Publish as Template — shares the design to the community templates library for other merchants.
#Starting a new cart
- New cart — a blank canvas.
- From a template — pick a starting design in Templates.
- Duplicate — start from something that already works.
#Saved layouts
Inside the builder, Save as Draft stores the current widget arrangement as a reusable saved layout. Saved layouts appear in the builder's left column and can be loaded into any cart — handy for keeping a seasonal arrangement on the shelf between campaigns.
