Quick start

This is the whole path from installing Cartie to shoppers seeing your new cart. Budget about ten minutes.

#1. Install Cartie

Install from the Shopify App Store. Shopify will ask you to approve the permissions Cartie needs — reading your products and orders so widgets can show real data and analytics can attribute revenue, and writing discounts and products for features like flash-sale discounts and shipping protection.

#2. Walk through the welcome wizard

On your first visit Cartie opens a four-step wizard: pick a starting point, meet the widgets, enable Cartie in your theme, and name your first cart. You can close it and come back — everything it does is available from the normal screens.

For the starting point you can choose one of the four built-in templates or a blank canvas.

#3. Turn on the Cartie block in your theme

Nothing appears on your storefront until the Cart Widgets app embed is enabled in your theme. This is the single most common reason a merchant sees no change on their store.

#4. Build your cart

Open My Carts → Edit to land in the cart builder. Add widgets from the palette, drag them into order, click any widget to configure it, and watch the live preview update as you go. Everything saves automatically as a draft.

#5. Publish

Click Publish changes in the builder (or Publish on a draft in My Carts). That cart becomes the live cart, and shoppers start seeing it within about a minute.

#Check it worked

1. Open your storefront in a new tab (an incognito window avoids cached files).
2. Add any product to the cart — the Cartie drawer should slide out.
3. Visit /cart — your Cartie cart should render there too.
